A volcano is a split in the earth's crust; this split allows for the hot magma, ash and volcanic gases to be released from inside the volcano. The eruption is caused by the separation or collision of the plates beneath the volcano. Eruptions can be large and deadly or might not be as harmful. We will be investigating the impacts of a volcanic explosion through the sciences of Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science and Physics. For our Group Four Project, we will be focusing on what enables the volcano explosions and how the hazards and effects of the explosions affect Earth.
